Budget 2027 for gig workers (proposals)
- A RM160 million package shared by the government and Grab from 2027: a higher minimum income rate, help with vehicle maintenance and insurance, and SOCSO contributions.
- 35% SOCSO contribution matching for e-hailing and p-hailing workers, rising to 50% if platforms also contribute.
- EPF matching of up to RM600 a year (lifetime cap RM6,000).
- RM270 million in BSN and Agrobank financing for gig workers to start a business or buy a first home.
